Luxembourg, Place de LÈurope
The Place de l'Europe is a central square in the European Quarter (Quartier Européen Sud) of the Kirchberg Plateau in the Luxembourg capital. The triangular shape of Place de l'Europe (which was once an open parking lot at the foot of the Alcide De Gasperi Tower) was designed by Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill in 2004. The square is surrounded by dark buildings with understated architecture, the main element being the Philharmonie located in the center. ANRIN supplied the slotted channel covers made of high-quality stainless steel, a drainage system for the sophisticated demand for aesthetic solutions. It consists of the actual channel body made of polymer concrete and a so-called slotted cover made of galvanized steel or stainless steel. This is formed by two folded sheets. The shaft ends in a narrow slot. During installation, the sheets are covered with slabs or paving, so that only the slot remains visible on the surface. This channel system is mainly used in the representative design of squares and urban areas in urban development and is suitable for traffic loads of up to D400*.
